Lindsay began his career in housing in 1980 as Housing and Development Officer for a housing association in Manchester. Qualifying as a chartered surveyor in 1983, in 1986 he become a Regional Development Manager with North British Housing Association (now Places for People Group). In 1989 he became Regional Manager for the North of England for Quality Street Ltd, a private rented housing company backed by Nationwide Building Society. He joined Focus Housing Group, in the Midlands in 1995, serving over a five-year period as Regional Director, and Director of Business Development.
In 2000 he was appointed Chief Executive of Oriel Group, one of Radian's founding partners, and was appointed Chief Executive of Radian when it was formed in December 2006.
Andrew Newberry qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1979, whilst working for an international practice in England. After two years further experience with them in Africa, he returned to England and moved into commerce. This gave him experience at a senior level in a range of activities including construction, property development, property maintenance manufacturing and leasing.
Andrew joined Swaythling Housing Society Limited, as Director of Finance in 1996, taking responsibility for finance, IT and company secretary matters and became Director of Finance of Radian Group at its inception.
Andrea joined Radian (via one of its original partner companies) in July 1998. Andrea is a chartered architect and her early career was spent in private practice. She joined the development directorate of Circle 33 Housing Trust in London in 1989 and, in 1996, moved out of London to head up Southampton City Council's £80m regeneration programme.
Andrea has retained a keen interest in design and is a Board Member of the Solent Centre for Architecture and Design. She is also a member of the NHF South East Regional Committee.
Andrea is married, child free and lives in the New Forest. When not at work, she enjoys a range of outdoor pursuits including sailing, trail running, cycling and snowboarding. She is also learning (very slowly) to speak Italian and French.
Peter has been working in construction related roles for over 25 years. After leaving the production side of the construction industry in 1997 Peter joined Rushmoor Housing Association as a maintenance officer and, after qualifying as a surveyor, joined The National Trust as a Building Surveyor.
In 2002 Peter gained the distinction of winning two Chartered Institute of Builders Awards in relation to Contractual and Technology studies. Following this Peter joined a construction consultancy working on a number of large construction projects across the region, before joining Drum Housing Association. In 2007 Peter became Head of Group Assets at Radian and is now Director of Technical Services.
Ralph joined Swaythling in January 2005 and has over 20 years housing management experience gained in a range of different organisations. In Birmingham Ralph coordinated preparations for the transfer of the City Castle Vale estate to a H.A.T and oversaw the formal transfer. After 3 years spent as Housing Services Manager at Southampton City Council, Ralph became Chief Housing Officer at Gosport and led the service through a period of successful and significant change. This resulted in a sustained improvement in satisfaction, strategic performance improving from 'below average' to the highest Government ranking and two Audit Commission inspections concluding that the authority provided a good service with promising prospects for improvement. The authority's ability to meet the Decent Homes Standard was made possible by the successful partial transfer in 2004 of 5 mixed tenure tower block contributing to the regeneration of the town's historic water-front.
In January 2005 Ralph took over responsibility for Swaythling Housing Society's preparations for the July 2005 Audit Commission inspection, which resulted in a good service and excellent prospects for improvement judgment - the highest award made to an RSL in 2005/06. Ralph was appointed as group Director of Housing and Customer Services in December 2009.
Gina Small - Director of Radian SupportGina has been working in health and social care for the past 30 years, starting as a nurse in her native Glasgow, before moving south in 1986 and working across a range of services in both an operational and commissioning role. She has always had a passion in developing projects and services which recognise the rights and needs of people with disabilities and which seek to make a real, positive difference in their lives.
Isabelle is a Fellow of the Institute of Personnel and Development and has held a variety of posts with responsibilities which included (amongst others) health and safety, data protection, communication, business planning, performance management, HR management including management of change, implementation of Investors in People, competency frameworks and risk management systems.
Isabelle was formerly with The Children's Society where she was director of people, procurement and organisational development. She is a board member of a housing association which specialises in provision for people with disabilities, and chairs its remuneration committee.
Isabelle also has experience as a magistrate for the youth and adult courts.
