Record Number at Hants HomeBuy Show

HomesinHants, the Government appointed HomeBuy Agent for Hampshire & the Isle of Wight, celebrated their most successful HomeBuy Show to date, with over 500 visitors attending the event at the Rose Bowl in Southampton last week

Experts from local HomeBuy Agent, Swaythling Housing, joined other Housing Associations, Developers, Independent Financial Advisers and Solicitors to provide visitors with essential information needed to get on the housing ladder.

As well as revealing which affordable houses are currently available in Hampshire for sale and for rent, prospective buyers benefitted from learning which of the Government’s Housing Initiatives they might qualify for and how to apply for financial help.

These initiatives are available to all first time buyers earning between £15,000 and £60,000 either as a shared owner or on a shared equity basis.

With a falling number of new homes being built, experts suggest that now is an excellent time to buy. Current prices start from as little as £84,000 in Basingstoke or £97,000 in Southampton but buyers can get on the ladder for less than £42,000 with one of the shared ownership options.
