The worldwide running events, ‘parkrun’, is starting at Queen Elizabeth Country Park in Horndean on 18 May at 9am. Parkruns have been taking place in parks around the world since 2004 when the first one was set up at Bushy Park in London. read more

A sensory room at 223 College Road, Sandhurst, Berkshire, was officially opened in memory of Peter Long who passed away in 2010. The room has been generously funded by Peter's brothers in his memory. Attilla Polak and Lesley Palliser, who were Peter's link workers, worked with the family to order the equipment and decorate the room. The room provides lots of equipment that was generously purchased by Peter's family such as: A Maxi bubble tube A super safe fibre optic sensory light system An oil effect wheel lamp Sensory Projectors and rotators Mirror ball The equipment provides a stimulating/relaxing environment for the residents who live at the home. The people we support have been making full use of the room and clearly enjoy being in there; a plaque has been placed at the entrance of the room in memory of Peter.
