Radian has won an award at the Affordable Home Ownership Awards for the third year running. Representatives from Radian were presented with the 'Outstanding Achievement in the South' award at a ceremony yesterday at the Millennium Hotel London Mayfair, hosted by comedian Jason Manford.
As well as being honoured with the inaugural award in the 'Outstanding Achievement in the South' category, Radian were once again short-listed for 'Excellence in Customer Care'. This year's success follows wins for Radian members at the Affordable Home Ownership Awards in the previous two years for: Excellence in Customer Care, Best Large Development, Best Small Development and the Affordable Home Ownership Provider of the Year Award.
The judging panel, responsible for deciding the winners, particularly acknowledged Radian's sustainability strategy, design criteria and Code Level 4 achievements. Radian's specialist team's comprehensive post-sales service and evaluation was praised, as were the residents' continuous improvement panel and the partnership working with Headway Charity.
As well as providing more than 17,500 affordable homes, Radian also provides care and support to hundreds of vulnerable residents. The last 12 months have been extremely positive for Radian, having also won key national awards for sustainability from both Sustain Magazine and Inside Housing. Earlier this year Radian was asked by the Ministry of Defence and the Department of Communities and Local Government to manage The Armed Forces Home Ownership Scheme (AFHOS), a £20 million joint housing initiative to provide additional housing options for personnel from the British Armed Services.
The award comes at a time when Radian is nearing completion of an ambitious change to its structure putting its customers at the heart of its business. The changes are designed to improve service levels through greater resident involvement and empowerment.
Jessica Pike, Radian's Head of Home Ownership said: "We are delighted that our approach to improving access to affordable home ownership and developing thriving communities in which people can flourish has been recognised in this way."
