What is the purpose of the tenancy audit?
The audit aims to do a number of things. It will:
- Help with the future planning of services that are appropriate to your needs.
- Ensure that future services are planned and delivered with a focus on equality, diversity and good relations.
- Identify people who may need to be re-housed by showing up any overcrowding of properties or under occupation (so we can better match property size to family size).
- Uncover fraud
- Signpost you to other services that are available and offer assistance if you have any support needs.
- Give you opportunity to feedback on services you receive from us - and what you would like to see happen in future.
What will happen during the audit?
The audit will take approximately 30 minutes of your time and during this period we will ask for documentation that confirms who you are. We will also ask you a few questions like who lives at the property, how you rate our service and whether there is anything we can help you with. At our visit we will look at the property to check whether there any repairs or estate issues.
We have a rolling programme of tenancy audits and it will take five years to audit all tenancies. If you are a new tenant, an audit will take place automatically when you receive your tenancy agreement.
