Radian Develops Outstanding Award Success
We have continued our rich vein of award success, winning the Regional Award for Outstanding Achievement, as well as being shortlisted for the Best Design Award at last week’s Affordable Home Ownership Awards. The awards, hosted by Jo Brand at the Millennium London Mayfair Hotel, are an industry-wide celebration of the most innovative affordable home ownership initiatives and finest new developments.
We have become synonymous with the successful provision of a wide range of affordable home ownership schemes in unprecedented economic conditions. This award is recognition of the delivery of outstanding affordable home ownership services and our contribution to ‘building a better future’. Despite the pessimism surrounding house prices being unachievable for first time buyers, the HomesInHants HomeBuy shows we have hosted throughout Hampshire to promote the opportunities available for first time buyers to get onto the property ladder, have attracted record numbers of prospective buyers this year.
Tim Willcocks, our Head of Home Ownership, said: “I am delighted to have received this prestigious award for the second year running. This is a remarkable result and is a reflection on the work of the entire department and every single member of our team, as well as many colleagues throughout the rest of Radian.”
The judges appreciated our comprehensive Home Ownership offer and its attention to design at a number of its affordable schemes. They were also impressed with our “mock lounge”, an innovative marketing campaign that has taken a show home set-up to busy public venues, such as shopping centres across the county, to promote the housing options available to first time buyers.
We also deliver the government’s high profile Mortgage Rescue scheme across Hampshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire. The scheme enables home owners, who are facing severe financial difficulties, to sell all or part of their property to a housing association and then rent it back or drastically reduce their mortgage payments, allowing them to stay in their own home without fear of repossession. We also works closely with the Ministry of Defence to offer the Armed Forces Home Ownership Scheme for Service Personnel across the whole of England.
