Start your Christmas this year at Woolston’s third annual Christmas Festival! This community and family orientated festival day returns to Victoria Road, Woolston on Saturday 3 December from midday through to 5pm. Come and join us and other local housing associations such as Raglan to bring the entire community together to celebrate Christmas alongside local schools and traders.
For the third year running, the high street will come alive with entertainment, live music, a craft fayre and fun fair, and a colourful Christmas Bazaar throughout the day. Local school children have been involved in Lantern-making workshops and the Lantern Parade will commence from outside the Co-op at 4.15pm and proceed towards the Tree of Light for the magical switch-on by MP John Denham at 5pm.
The festival’s sponsored Tree of Light is also a major fundraiser for the local charity Communicare East, who support and befriend the elderly and vulnerable in the community. This festival demonstrates just how alive community spirit is in Woolston; with the supportive presence of The Sheriff of Southampton, Councillor Derek Burke, and organisations such as us at Radian, making sure all residents young and old are part of a thriving community.
With a variety of festive activities and attractions, including local stalls, late night shopping and participation from the Guides and Brownies, this year’s Woolston Christmas Festival promises to be bigger and better than ever.
