The organisation of Boards and Committees in Radian Group was changed in September 2010. Until that time, each company had its own separate Board, which meant there were more than thirty board meetings a year across the Group, and more than 50 board members.
In September 2010 we simplified and streamlined the way our Boards work. We created the Radian Group Combined Board, which is a joint meeting of several Boards with overlapping membership.
This Board meets at least five times per year and considers all aspects of strategy, performance and compliance for the Group as a whole.
Radian Support, however, continues to operate with its own separate Board, to deal with the specialist areas of its business.
There are a number of smaller companies within Radian Group, but none of them currently provides services outside of the Group, or owns housing, or employs staff. Each has its own Board whose members come from Radian's Executive Team and from the Combined Board membership.
Some Board responsibilities are delegated to Group Committees. Group Committee members include Board members, residents, and independent people with a particular expertise (who are neither board members, nor residents, nor staff).
The Radian Group Combined Board currently has the following Committees:
Two members of the Group Combined Board are residents.
A Board member attends each of Radian's Area Panels (as an observer not a panel member)
The Chair of the Residents Council attends the Combined Board meetings (as an observer)
The Chair of the Group Combined Board attends Residents Council meetings (as an observer)
We also have resident members on our Group Committees.
