To mark the lead up to the official opening of Stoneham Green in Southampton, Radian is offering the opportunity to view its latest zero carbon development. The Open House sessions at Stoneham Green will allow visitors to explore Southampton's first Code for Sustainable Homes level 6 development and study the technologies utilised on site.
The new development comprises 11 homes for affordable rent, all designed to maximise the use of renewable energy sources and reduce the impact on the environment. This scheme will significantly increase the number of properties in England built to Level 6, setting new standards for energy efficiency and sustainability well above the current building regulations.
Encompassing the latest building technology and innovative design, this development will provide long term sustainable family accommodation. There are many key ecological features to ascertain this level of energy saving and adaptability, such as heating and hot water provided by a communal biomass boiler and power from fully integrated photo-voltaic solar panel installation. Other innovations include a Building Energy Management System which allows residents to assess energy savings via an interactive touch screen. It is hoped these will result in vastly reduced utility bills and therefore generate more disposable income for the residents.
The Open House sessions offer a unique opportunity to hear presentations from key members of the project team, including builders, architects and local apprentices, and to review the lessons learnt during the build.
Please note that spaces are limited to 20 people per session and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. The confirmed dates for the sessions are as follows:
4th April 14.00-17.00
18th April 14.00-17.00
2nd May 14.00-17.00
