We have yet again been acknowledged for our leading expertise in sustainable development and retrofit, winning the Energy Saving Initiative of the Year award at Inside Housing’s Sustainable Housing Awards 2011! The ceremony, which took place at London’s Hilton Hotel, Park Lane on Friday, recognised our Retrofit South East project, in Petersfield, Hampshire as the deserving winner from a strong shortlist.

We have continued our rich vein of award success, winning the Regional Award for Outstanding Achievement, as well as being shortlisted for the Best Design Award at last week’s Affordable Home Ownership Awards. The awards, hosted by Jo Brand at the Millennium London Mayfair Hotel, are an industry-wide celebration of the most innovative affordable home ownership initiatives and finest new developments.
Two of our employees from Turnstone Support's Waterside Supported Living scheme in Chesham have been recognised by the REED Care Awards 2011. Hollie Capstick, Support Worker, won the Regional Carer of the Year prize for the South, and Vanessa Caldicott, Assistant Team Manager, was runner up in the same category.

We have been made the overall UK Gold Award winner at the 11th annual Ashden Awards for Sustainable Energy, the world's leading green energy awards. The Award recognises our achievement in retrofitting hard-to-treat homes to save energy and the building of new homes to high environmental standards.

Radian resident, Carol McCall has been shortlisted for a prestigious ‘Tenant of the Year’ award. Carol, who lives in Sawyers Close, Windsor was nominated for the TPAS (Tenant Participation Advisory Service) Awards, southern region.
Carol has been involved with Radian and before it, Windsor Housing for the last 15 years. She is now the vice chair of the Thames Area panel, sits on the Radian Residents Council, is a founding member of and now Chairs Sawyers Close Residents association and sits on numerous boards within Radian. Carol is equally involved in her local community undertaking numerous voluntary roles.
Rachel Salter, Community Involvement Team Leader at Radian said, ’We are thrilled that Carol has been shortlisted for this award. We are very proud of Carol and grateful to her for the time, commitments and passion that she gives to her roles at Radian, she is a real inspiration to us, so this recognition of her achievement is brilliant’.
Carol’s commitment to her local community through her involvement with Radian, as a member of other local groups and her local volunteering has made a real and positive impact. Through the projects and groups with which Carol has been involved, anti-social behaviour (ASB) has been reduced, young and older residents have been provided with new opportunities and activities, rubble strewn ground has been replaced with new gardens and, as a result, the community is closer and stronger.
As well as committing significant time to helping Radian improve its services to its residents, Carol is a community crime fighter, the vice chair of the local youth club management committee and a volunteer for St. John’s Ambulance. Since Carol helped to start Sawyers Close Residents Association the ASB on the estate has reduced by 70%.
