Junior PCSOs
Swaythling Housing Society, part of Radian, has produced a DVD to celebrate the growing success of the Junior Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) Scheme. The DVD will be officially launched at a special screening at the Harbour Lights cinema in Southampton on 18th February starting at 11am. The DVD illustrates the positive impact the program has had in the local community throughout Hampshire since its launch two years ago, and to encourage other Housing Associations to get involved.
Radian manages new Armed Forces Housing scheme
Hampshire based, Swaythling Housing Society, part of Radian, has been chosen to manage the new national pilot scheme launched by the Ministry of Defence and the Department of Communities and Local Government. The Armed Forces Home Ownership Scheme (AFHOS) is a £20 million joint housing initiative that will provide additional housing options for Service personnel.
Awards recognise Housing in Southampton website
The Housing in Southampton website, www.housingsouthampton.com, has been shortlisted for a brand new category in this year's Hantsweb Awards. The inaugural presentation of the Life Changing Award is included for the first time to encourage entries that promote wellbeing in the county. The Awards, to be held in February 2010, celebrate excellence in website design, accessibility and service, and recognise the best websites from organisations based in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
Southampton Homebuy Show
The local area’s only HomeBuy Show is back in Southampton on Thursday 29th October at St Mary's football stadium from 3-7pm. Also know as Shared Ownership or part buy/part rent, HomeBuy is the most cost-effective way for first time buyers to get onto the property ladder. Offering the opportunity to register and benefit from free expert advice, the previous Southampton event, in March, was successfully attended by well over 250 applicants in the four hours.
