Safeguarding

In the course of your work, you may be in contact with vulnerable adults or children:

  • in their own homes
  • in public areas

The Care Act 2014, Children’s Act 2004 and Working Together to Safeguard Children 2015 all set out a clear legal framework for how organisations, such as Radian, should protect vulnerable adults and children at risk of abuse, neglect or exploitation. This includes the principle of partnership and recognising that everyone who works for us and with us has an important part to play in preventing, detecting and reporting such abuse.

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. We ask contractors who are working in or around residents’ homes, to help them stay safe, by:

  • being aware of the principles and importance of safeguarding
  • doing everything reasonable to identify abuse, or the risk of abuse
  • if there are any concerns, alerting us on our See Something, Say Something helpline on 02380 628062
  • if the person is in immediate danger, or a crime is being committed, calling 999 straight away.

You can also find these details in our See Something Say Something leaflet produced for contractors by our Specialist Housing Services team.

If you have more general questions about Safeguarding, please contact Radian’s Tenancy Sustainment Manager on 0300 123 1567.
