Whether you are looking to increase your confidence, learn a new skill or gain a qualification in a work-related area, the Employment Support and Training team can help find relevant training near you and in some circumstances may be able to assist with funding.

Having supported over 2000 residents with their training needs, our team has developed excellent partnerships with local colleges and training providers and have an extensive knowledge of the huge variety of courses out there. Current Training Courses

Business Administration Skills 

The qualification will provide you with the essential knowledge which is required by employers to work in an office based role, this will help you to carry out common tasks such as how to manage information, communicating in the workplace, diary management, events organisation, reception duties and more.
Achieve a NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Business Administration qualification.

Knowledge for the childcare sector 

This qualification will provide you with the essential knowledge which is required to work in the childcare industry covering topics such as child development, the value of play, safeguarding, child welfare, learning support and government legislation.  You’ll have the opportunity to gain a Level 2 Certificate in Caring for Children and Young people qualification and an emergency paediatric First Aid certificate.

If you lack confidence, have little or no knowledge of computer programmes and software, then this course is the right course for you to improve your skills.

Improvers ICT  

This course is specifically designed for learners who have some knowledge of computer programmes and software, who would like to improve and broaden their skills.

You will also gain a Level 1 Laser qualification in Microsoft Office Skills.

Customer Service Skills

Topics covered: reception skills, understanding business communication, understanding customer service, professional behaviour in an office environment, handling telephone calls from customers and effective relationships with customers and colleagues.

Topics include warehousing and storage roles including picking and packing, goods in and recycling.
