We are proud to be supporting the National Housing Federation’s Homes at the Heart campaign throughout August and September, this week focusing on economy.
As such, we wanted to take this opportunity to shine a spotlight on Herbert Collins House in Mansbridge. Previously an office for our colleagues, the site is being re-developed and will include 14 new affordable flats. As part of the development, which is being delivered by our in-house construction team, we are offering employment and up-skilling opportunities for residents.
What are we doing?
Our Employment, Support and Training team are pleased to be involved in the development to deliver an Employment Skills Plan which will benefit the local community.
To launch this activity, we are recruiting an apprentice to learn the trade of Electrician at the site. This is a great opportunity to up-skill someone looking to enter the trades sector, supported by professionals in a nurturing environment.
The vacancy remains open until Friday 7 August and more information can be found here.
We are also collaborating with Solent University to support students completing construction apprenticeships. Students will have the opportunity to visit the development and apply their classroom learning to practical examples; our employment team will provide the materials to support this course.
Homes at the Heart
Throughout August and September, we will be getting involved in the Homes at the Heart campaign. We want to take this opportunity to shout about the role of housing providers, from supported housing to community investment, to emphasise the importance of supporting communities to thrive.
