Countess Mountbatten Hospice Charity has received a welcome boost to its fundraising efforts with a £2,529 donation from staff at Eastleigh-based housing provider, Radian.
With many staff within Radian’s Eastleigh office having a close connection with the local hospice in West End, it was an obvious choice when selecting a charity that could benefit from the proceeds of an in-house tuckshop, as well as a curry supper and quiz night.
Tessa Watts, lead organiser of the fundraising at Radian said: “Our staff really do enjoy an “elevenses”, and thanks to their support of our internal tuck shop we’re proud to present Countess Mountbatten with a cheque for £2,529. We hope that our contribution will go a long way in further supporting the fantastic work that the hospice does to enhance the quality of life of its patients. With it being such a local hospice, and one close to many of our hearts, we really hope our support will help make a difference.”
Lorraine Pink, Head of Income Generation & Business Management at Countess Mountbatten Hospice Charity said: “We are delighted to receive this donation from the staff at Radian and would like to thank everyone that’s supported the internal fundraising efforts over the last year. Every year the hospice provides care and support to local people with a terminal illness and their families across South Central Hampshire. While we receive some government funding we still need to raise £1 Million pounds every year to ensure vital services are maintained. It’s thanks to supporters like Radian that we are able to do so.”
