The over 60s sheltered housing accommodation, which has recently undergone a major £1million renovation, was visited by local MP, Damian Hinds on 27 July, 2018.
The Member of Parliament for East Hampshire was visiting Fletchers House following the completion of the 18-month refurbishment programme that has already realised in a marked increase in resident satisfaction, by unlocking new socialising opportunities.
Damian Hinds MP said: “The renovations to Fletchers House have made a positive difference to the lives of its residents. It is great to see Radian investing in its customers and properties to create social opportunities that benefit everyone.”
A recent survey found that residents of Fletchers House are 81% happier with new socialising opportunities by comparison, with 57% of residents satisfied prior to the works; Regular use of the residents’ lounge has also increased from 40% to 70% following the refurbishment.
Mick Sweeney, Radian’s Chief Executive said: “I am delighted that the Fletchers House project has proven valuable to our residents. We are committed to identifying opportunities for innovation and driving improvements in sheltered housing, which improves the quality of life for our residents. We’re also looking to expand our offering to include retirement living to make sure we are providing homes of all types for all ages.”
The refurbishment includes an additional 26 homes to the immediate vicinity as well as an extensive renovation the residents lounge and all communal areas.
As well as changes made to the communal areas, a new lift was installed, two extensions added, additional landscaping was undertaken as well as new wiring and the conversion of bedsits in to one bedroom flats.
