One week on – Carol Bode reflects on Radian and Yarlington’s partnership

What a week! On Monday the deal was signed and Yarlington became a subsidiary of Radian Group. Looking back just one year I couldn’t have anticipated that a new organisation was on the horizon with such a strong commitment to tackling the housing crisis, and with a Board and Exec team of such a high calibre to bring it to fruition.

Since we announced we were in partnership discussions earlier this year, I have experienced nothing but incredible support and enthusiasm from colleagues across both organisations, and I have been truly inspired by their commitment to create an outstanding organisation that will provide more homes, support and services for its customers and communities.

It’s been amazing to see the response from colleagues both in the office and on Twitter – everyone is so engaged and excited for the future.

The social housing sector faces great uncertainty posed by Brexit, and the new organisation provides an opportunity to better meet these challenges and support our communities, with our dedication to our customers and social purpose as strong as ever.

Looking ahead, the new organisation has an ambitious target to deliver over 10,000 affordable homes by 2030. This is an fantastic opportunity for us to provide more quality homes to those who need them. But what I am most proud of, is the team’s passion and capability to provide more than just bricks and mortar, investing in our communities and supporting our customers into employment, better jobs and life-long careers.

This is just the start of an incredibly exciting journey with lots more to come over the next few months, and I am honoured to Chair the Board as we move forward as one new organisation.
