Radian colleagues from across the business joined the Wates team at Lee-on-the-Solent on Tuesday for a coastal clean-up.
Part of Wates’ Reshaping Tomorrow initiative – the company’s framework for building a sustainable future – the scheme focused on removing unwanted plastics and general litter from the shore line, protecting the area’s natural habitat and working to support important marine life. Taking place during Volunteering Week, it was an opportunity to give back to the community Radian and Wates are, together, developing.
Reshaping Tomorrow is an award-winning programme that focuses on creating a positive environmental impact, investing in local communities, and tackling key environmental and social issues. Both Radian and Wates are passionate about supporting and developing communities, with a focus on protecting and preserving the environment.
“It’s a really good feeling to help to keep the beaches free of plastic in a community where Radian are about to offer 80 new Shared Ownership homes. Daedalus Village is very close to the beach at Lee-on-the-Solent.” – Gemma Board, Radian’s Senior Marketing Officer
The beach at Lee-on-the-Solent is just a short stroll away from Daedalus Village, a new development of 80 one and two-bedroom Shared Ownership apartments and houses. A joint venture between Radian and Wates, the development is situated in a stunning location, rich in local history.
