Every January, over 30,000 people get out and get active in support of RED January, an initiative that aims to improve people’s mental and physical health by encouraging everyone to do something active every single day of the month.
The initiative has partnered with the charity Mind and offers those taking part the opportunity to fundraise in support of Mind’s work to provide information, advice and support to those who need it as well as campaigns for a better deal and respect for everyone experiencing a mental health problem.
The staff at Radian have set themselves a goal to raise £1,000 for Mind throughout the month by taking part in a 10,000-step challenge, weekly walks at work and various activities outside of the office; from mountain biking, walking, spinning and running to walking the dog.
Red January is open to anyone and everyone, it’s free to join in and there is no need to fundraise unless you want too!
The initiatives main aim is to help individuals boost their own physical and mental health through physical activity. At a time when mental health issues are at an all-time high it has never been more important to raise awareness of mental health and how we can best look after ourselves.
If you would like to donate to Mind, we have a JustGiving page for any donations, large or small to help us reach our £1,000 goal!
