On Tuesday 4 June we were successful at the prestigious 2019 Planning Awards, taking home three trophies. We celebrated success for:
- Best use of Brownfield Land in Placemaking – Quebeck Park
- Partnership Working – Whitehill & Bordon Healthy New Towns Partnership
- Best Housing Scheme (fewer than 500 homes) – Berry Court, Bournemouth
The Planning Awards celebrate excellence in planning and placemaking including planning-related activities such as urban design, economic development and regeneration.
This recognition also celebrates our successful partnership working with organisations and local authorities including the East Hampshire District Council, NHS England and Bournemouth Development Company.
In March 2016, Whitehill & Bordon was one of ten towns across the country selected by NHS England to take part in the Healthy New Towns programme to show how towns can be designed to help residents live healthy, active and independent lifestyles.
Ralph Facey, our Executive Director of Partnerships and Projects said,
“Radian are thrilled to be part of the award-winning Healthy New Town programme. We’re very proud of the health, empowerment and employment outcomes we have delivered from Café 1759 at Quebec Park with activities such as our social prescribing pilot with the NHS, food academy, health drop-ins and our volunteering placements, as well other community projects that we’ve developed with partners locally. This award is testament to the enthusiasm and expertise of the partnership – which has undoubtedly made a positive difference to the Whitehill and Bordon community. We look forward to continuing to collaborate on initiatives to improve outcomes for customers in the future.”
